What happened with the 2023 infected mods incident?
In June 2023, compromised creator accounts uploaded malware (Fractureiser) to mod platforms including CurseForge. The platform removed known infected files, published detection tools, and scanned all uploads. This was not a platform-wide compromise but targeted account hijacking. Users should still verify downloads and avoid unofficial file shares.
